My name is Jim Seebock and I am running for the Henderson City Council Seat in Ward One that was vacated by Mayor Michelle Romero. Her seat will be deemed vacated upon her swearing in on January 2, 2023.

I have been a Henderson resident since 1986. While growing up I attended Burkholder Junior High School and graduated from Basic High School. In 1993, I hired on with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and for the next 29 years I was promoted up through the ranks to my current position of Deputy Chief. I hold an associate degree from College of Southern Nevada, a bachelor's degree from Nevada State College, and a master's degree from the Naval Post Graduate School. For almost three decades, I have served in various ministries of Central Christian Church, served the City of Henderson as a community volunteer for a total of four years by holding a position on the Civil Service Board and was appointed to the Parks and Recreation Board by then Mayor Andy Hafen. Additionally, I volunteered as a youth coach in almost every sport that my twin children played. I graduated from Leadership Henderson sponsored by the Henderson Chamber of Commerce in 2016 and have been married for over 25 years and am the proud father of 15-year-old twins. I currently reside in East Henderson where my children attend Foothill High School.

I am running for this seat because I love our community and feel a sense of duty to give back and contribute in areas that I have prepared for my whole life. As the city continues to mature it must address issues surrounding homelessness, redevelopment needs, and supporting our first responder community so they can stay in front of violent crime trends before they end up here. My focus will be on what I am calling a Public Safety Infrastructure, which is embodied by effective first responders, wise governance that focuses on smart growth, and increased community interaction. The City Council must continue to create opportunities for our community members to have an increased voice from HOA's, neighborhood watch groups, as well as business coalitions and associations. My leadership and experience uniquely qualifies me to be the best candidate to address these big city challenges

Which is why I invite you to learn more about me and respectfully request your vote.
